This is the Open Hand Monument, located in India. My impression of the design is that it mixes a modern, intentionally inaccurate design with an old concept: that of peace and unity. The town of Chandigarh, home of the monument, uses the open hand as their official emblem. The image of a hand is something that can be understood and appreciated by everyone.
